HOW'D WE GET HERE?
It all started with love! That's what brings people together. Love for one another, and love for the game of golf. In 1993 a young Marty McHugh would marry the love of his life, but first, being the Irishman he is, he needed to walk the links before he walked the aisle.
What has become known as the McHugh Open started with three foursomes at Red Tail Golf Course for Marty's bachelor party. The 12 individuals were brothers and most importantly, friends. As the years went by, the number of friends increased, and the name of the outing changed. There was the McTurner Open, the McTurnFlanner Open, the McFlanTurnDer Open and several others. The Open name incorporated the family and friends names. McHugh, Turner (McHugh cousins) Flannery (Jack McHugh's police partner) Dermitt (Another Friend of Jack's).

In 2007 the Open became known as the MAC Open in memory of John 'Jack' McHugh, the father of the McHugh clan. In 2010 the name changed to the MAC/JACK OPEN after the passing of the younger Jack McHugh, or commonly known as The McHugh Open.

The McHugh Open has been hosted throughout the Mid-West at various golf courses such as: Red Tail GC, Bloomingdale GC, White Pines GC, Bonnie Brook GC, Edgebrook GC, Viroqua Wis. GC, Morengo GC, Coachmen's GC (Multiple times), Fox Run GC, Gull Lakeview (Augusta MI), Brae Loch GC., Bristol GC (WI), Twin Lakes CC (WI) and mutiple more.

There have been 27 Opens held over the past 29 years, and 2024 marks the 28th McHugh Open. Countless memories are made, and good times have always been had by all those who attend. Come Join us for another unforgettable afternoon of great golf!

CONTESTS! Â WIN SOME $$$ AND PRIZES
Course Contests
So you think you can drive, putt and are accurate?
We will have four prize contests on the golf course.
Longest Drive
Longest Putt
Closest to the Pin (in regulation)
Closest to the center of the fairway
Putt-Putt
So you really think you can truly putt?
We will have a putting contest on the practice green prior to the McHuh Open commencing. Â For $5 you will get three attempts to sink a long distance putt. Â Each putt made will be one 50/50 raffle ticket. Sink all three, get three tickets for the price of one. But be warn, sink none and others will thank you for your contribution!
Can't golf? What about throwing?
Sometimes throwing a golf ball is more fun than hitting a golf ball!
A big hit last year, we will be once again doing the closest to the pin from throwing a golf ball off the balcony.  For $5 you will get a golf ball to throw off the balcony onto the awaiting green below.  Whoever is closest to the pin will win half the monies raised from that round.  If a tie, a 'throw-off' will occur.
RAFFLES!
Help Support Alzheimers Research and buy some RAFFLE TICKETS!
Here are a few of the raffle prizes we will be raffling off. Others will be added as we get closer to the McHugh Open! Â Raffle tickets can either be bought online with a credit card or at the event with CASH. Â You will place your raffle tickets into a designated container for each prize at the event. Â You are allowed to submit as many tickets as you wish for any prize.
ABOUT THE CLUB
Twin Lakes is a fun golf course that’s challenging for golfers of all abilities. Established in 1912, Twin Lakes is one of Wisconsin's oldest golf courses. We've been family owned and operated for over 30 years by the Cantwell Family.
Twin lakes Country Club is a traditional parkland layout and very forgiving off the tee. With greens as small as postage stamps, you'll need to bring your "A" game! The course offers five Par 5's, six Par 3's and seven Par 4's. It's reminiscent to the "Golden Age" of golf when small, true greens, and club accuracy and control were required talents.
